PLM-DMS-13 Purge of Content Versions

 

SAP DMS allows content versions to generated each time an application file in changed and updated in the content repository:

 

  • This functionality allows additional flexibility, in that a user can view the changes made to an application file, by viewing previous versions and allows a previous version to be changed to the active version if required.
  • But as multiple content versions will typically exist for each application file, the file storage on the content server will increase accordingly.
  • Our solution allows these content versions to be purged when the associated document record is released, thus freeing space on the content server. Once the document is released the content versions should no longer be required.
